The “Kasr-el-Nil” is a main road in Cairo, where Hartmut Geerken was head of the language department of the Goethe Institute. In 1967, Geerken filmed the scenery of the traffic, the figures and their shadows from a hotel window using a Super-8 film. This short video film is accompanied by the sound of the author and musician, a strange percussion on a socket and ambient noises from the radio. DVD-Video, Berlin 2010. Edition: 50 copies.
